How to Install Fampay App
The official app-store route is the simplest and safest path. Here's how it works, plus what to weigh if you're considering an APK install instead.
Installing from Google Play or the App Store
Open the store app
Google Play on Android, or the App Store on iPhone.
Search "FamApp by Trio"
This is the current listing for the app formerly known as Fampay.
Tap Install
The store handles the download and installation automatically.
Open and set up your account
Follow the in-app steps to verify your identity and link a bank account or add funds.
Installing an APK file instead
If you have a specific reason to install outside the Play Store — for example, a device without Play Services — here's what that process generally involves, and what to be careful about.
Confirm the source is trustworthy
Only use a file from a publisher or site you have real reason to trust. See our download page for what we currently offer.
Allow installs from this source
Android will prompt you to allow installation from unknown sources for that specific app or browser. Only enable it for the install, and consider turning it back off afterward.
Open the downloaded file
Tap the APK file from your notifications or file manager to begin installation.
Review the permissions requested
Before confirming, check what the installer is asking to access. Be cautious of anything beyond what a payments app would reasonably need.
Finish and open the app
Once installed, open it and proceed with account setup as usual.
This is a finance app
Because it's tied to a bank account or prepaid card, we'd encourage installing from Google Play or the App Store unless you have a clear, informed reason not to.
If installation fails
Check available storage
Free up space if your device is running low — this is one of the most common reasons an install stalls or fails.
Check your Android version
If the store reports the app isn't compatible with your device, your OS version may be older than what's currently required. See our compatibility page.
Restart and retry
A failed download can sometimes be resolved by restarting the device and reattempting the install on a stable connection.
Update Google Play services
An outdated Play Store or Play services build can occasionally block installs — check for pending updates to those first.
